
P21 Venture Mentoring Service (VMS), established in March 2022, is a free and confidential team mentoring service licensed by MIT Venture Mentoring Service for entrepreneurs in the Borderland region, helping startups and small businesses to build their ventures.
Recognized for its leadership and excellence in entrepreneurship mentoring, MIT VMS has made the dissemination of the MIT VMS Model to other institutions an important part of its mission.
Pioneers 21 is one of 135 organizations with team mentoring methodology licensed by MIT worldwide.
Ventures enrolled in P21 VMS can book 30-minute appointments with experienced professionals to receive business-focused answers and practical advice in the following:
Legal Office Hours: Examples of topics include initial organization and capital structure; employment issues and equity incentive programs; corporate finance matters; seed capital and venture capital financings; joint ventures and strategic alliances.
IP Office Hours: Potential topics include the protection and licensing of technology under patent, trade secret, and copyright laws; selection, licensing, and protection of trademarks; intellectual property issues in other business contexts, such as contracts, agreements with employees, financings; etc.
CPA/Accounting Office Hours: Examples of issues that can be addressed include corporate structure; accounting and implementing “best practice” procedures and systems; payroll and founder compensation; 83(b) elections and any other tax, payroll or accounting issues.
Business Model Canvas & Pitch Office Hours: Business model canvas development, customer value propositions, revenue models, go-to-market strategy, and pitch deck structure, messaging, and investor and partnership readiness.
